PLEASE NOTE - Limited Access of City Hall

The Court Clerk’s office is available to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (and any No-Court dates).

Please note: from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, customers may only access the Clerk's Office if they have a scheduled court case on the docket that day.

Only those who are scheduled to appear in court may enter the court area while court is in session

Once court is over, and on No-Court Days, the General District Court Clerk’s office will be open to all on a first come, first served basis. 

You now may send any communications and requests to the Clerk’s Office via email to CityGDC@fairfaxva.govCô gắi dễ thương . This includes any filings for motions, praecipes, continuance requests, and copy requests. Emails will be answered within 24-48 hours of receipt.

Another option is to use the new Courts dropbox located on the east side of the City Hall building, adjacent to George Mason Boulevard.

Face coverings are mandatory in the City of Fairfax General District Court facility when court hearings resume, until further notice, by order of the court. Click here to read the court order.

All persons older than age two entering City of Fairfax General District Court facilities must wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth. Individuals without face coverings will not be permitted to enter the court facility and individuals who do not continuously wear their face covering while in the court facility as required by this order will be subject to removal from the court facility.Cô gắi dễ thương This order does not apply to individuals who have difficulty breathing, or who cannot remove a face covering without help, or have other medical issues that make the wearing of a face covering unsafe.

The City of Fairfax General District Court hears traffic violations and criminal misdemeanors. Court is held beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 100 of the City Hall Annex. Because this court is not of record, all cases are heard by a judge; there are no jury trials at this level.
